"How you start your day is essentially how you will live your life."
Shownotes:
Check in about positive words (see Episode 2) - I've been repeating "You are worthy of love" and "You are learning not to yell at your children anymore."
My positive words have been really affecting me in a great way
If you haven't started last week's action item, start telling yourself, "You are worthy of love"
Gratitude! Let's start with my daughter saying what she's grateful for
I started with my daughter because it highlights how simple gratitude is
We can wake up and say what we are grateful for and it can be simple - I am tired in the morning and don't have too many deep thoughts right when I wake up in the morning
Morning gratitude doesn't need to super deep - it's just a mindset shift
What you're grateful for is your first thought before checking your phone
Shoutout to Allie Casazza who talked about getting grateful in the morning on The Purpose Show podcast - go check her out at http://alliecasazza.com/podcast
Starting your day with gratitude really shifts your mood
I started gratitude in the evening when my little girl was young and it was just the three of us - we ended the evening with what we were grateful for and we still do that after prayers and before bed
Let's bookend our days with gratitude
Starting your day with gratitude is important because it's a snowball effect for the rest of your day
What you fill your mind with in the morning determines the rest of your day
Julie Boyer wrote a book called 30 Days of Gratitude and she says: "How you start your day is essentially how you live your life."
Your ACTION ITEM is: wake up tomorrow morning and start with gratitude - lay in bed thinking of what you're grateful for (even something as simple as being grateful for your bed is great)
